Social Media

For the last 2 years, I've run the Instagram page for Cody High School's National Honor Society. Having dominion over the entire page taught me the best ways to engage members, and about making designs simple, yet informative and eye-catching. If you scroll through the feed, you'll notice the evolution of my style/uniformity. I began to develop more of an idea of color palletes and continuity in design. I took over the page October of 2019. 
I chose to leave some things as I received them from our previous historian, like our bio and links. Though they seem unprofessional, I feel that it's important to build a character for the group, which includes not erasing our roots/legacy. 
I found as I went on that animated, or otherwise  eye catching/odd posts received  more engagement. From there, I decided each post would have its own theme, making them harder to miss.

Web Design

Over quarantine, as I mentioned in my essay, I worked closely with my adviser and peer Bailey to design a brand new website for CHS Wired. We built it through SNO, and we pretty much started from scratch. This meant we drafted color palettes, a style guide, and staff bios to upload with uniformity. In order to learn Wordpress' SNO, I attended countless online webinar classes. Unfortunately this year, we've experienced an issue with SNO. Our school merged CHS Wired (broadcast) and CHS Bonfire (written) because of the loss of a teacher, so we had to merge the Wired and Bonfire sites to create CHS Media.
Our new site is beautiful, but we lost all of our old work when the merge happened. We're still working on fixing it, but until then, our merger website is a strong one. This year we had some people on staff who were very into coding and web-design, so we allowed them to take the lead on the site this year, though I gave input on what our most beneficial structure and design would be.
